Name: Chuck D. Willis
Location: Hollywood, California
My name is Chuck and I'm an actor living in Los Angeles. I have a great interest in furniture restoration and thrift shopping. I'm from Nashville, Tennessee, so my aethstetic is strongly influenced by American culture.
My secret to filling a 2,000 sq feet apartment is patience. I have sourced and collected pieces over the past three years so I wouldn't break the bank as well as but pieces I truly love.
I also tailor clothes and do a bit of photography so it was very important to have my space be not only inviting but also inspiring. Hope you enjoy my home.
Thanks, Chuck!

i love everything about this place.
Personally, I would not put the TV in front of the window but that's my only pet peeve. Actually, not the only one - this should have been a house tour!
I love everything else.
A very cute doggie.
With the exception of hide and skull...Chuck has pulled together a nice space for himself.
I would re-arrange the seating in the livingroom as well as removing the TV from in front of the window as CANADINMANGO suggested.
How do you watch TV with no seating facing the TV? The glare would drive me mad from the windows.
I'm envious not only of your square-footage (2,000 sf apartment in Hollywood! WTF?!?), but also of that large metal thing behind the green couch. Whatever it is, it's very cool.
I'm with CanadianMango on the TV placement. It blocks light and the view, and probably make TV watching hard on the eyes. I can't imagine it's good for the electronics either.
Tour, please! Looks very promising..
I LOVE that thing behind your couch!!!! And, I too, wish this had been a House Tour!
It's all so masculine but clean and comfortable. I wonder what you are using as a bedskirt? It looks like a matelasse bed cover? Looks really rich but casual. Fantastic bed. I'm not one for fur but that fur comforter is perfection with the rest of the bed. Great place.
This House Call was more interesting than most House Tours we've seen lately. More, please...
I don't usually comment, but I have to say that this one needs a full tour. The overall aesthetic in this apartment is incredible: masculine, rustic, clean, collected, NOT TRENDY and interesting. More, please!
"Show me your apartment and I will tell you who you are!" It's been a pleasure to meet you, Chuck.
I'd love to know more about the coffee table....on 4 wheels? Was it part of something else or did you add the wheels. Love it!
I did a little stalking. If you like his apartment, you'll like his blog. http://customthrift.wordpress.com/ and I also found his instagram:chuckdwillis.
Nice stuff Chuck.
I demand a full tour... please?
@(V) (;,,;) (V) took the words out of my mouth. I want everything.
Yay Chuck! This is great. Yes to a full tour. It's very personal in a manly way I'd find threatening at my own place but I really appreciate the look of everything. Also it's not Mid-Century Modern nor 100% vintage industrial. Lots of personality in here. Hope to see more in the very near future.
Fantastic apartment. It's contemporary and masculine and comfortable. I'd love to see more.
super manly and dignified. i would live here...and i am not a man.
Hot. Tour Please.
I own half of your space and my bedroom doesn't look this crowded. Your living room is cool, but your bedroom looks like a teenager's mess.
Wow! I really like this one. More please! It is a very cool place.
LOVE this.
Drool.
Agreed - this needs a full tour. Beautiful!
So manly! Man I love this. Count me in for the full tour!
Love what is behind your couch!!! The apartment has really nice details and I really like the decorating style. I personally would pass on the hides and the skull, but that is my own aesthetic! Great space...
I like his sensibility, but I can't quite wrap my head around that bedroom...hate that the bed is pushed up against the wall, but perhaps I just think that it'd be a pain to put sheets on it!
Otherwise, I think this is excellent support for my theory that thrifting combined with discipline can yield some pretty spectacular results.
