Brian and April have done an incredible job of turning their first home into their own. Since purchasing in 2014, they have added fun pops of color and personality into almost every room and turned it into a happy haven in the Plaza Midwood area in Charlotte.

April is well known throughout the Charlotte art crowds and her fearless
personality definitely shows in her decor. Brian is a pilot who has found time to do a ton of DIY work around his busy schedule and really add some unique elements to their home of two years. They did it all while in the process of adding sweet Cici to the mix late last year. She has already added her own bit of influence to the home, surely with more to come.

This wonderful and creative family has created a home that is upbeat and full of personal touches. They are often hosting get-togethers where the dining room and bar are a location of choice. You really have to look out for all of the unique art hiding in corners and closets because it is all truly special. They have paid close attention to the details from the gold ceiling (done by Brian, himself) to Brian’s childhood Gumby figurines in April’s personal art space. There are so many memories held in this home.

Biggest Embarrassment:
April – the litter box (you just cannot hide that thing)

Proudest DIY:
April – my husband (he has done everything from tile, painting 20 ft. ceilings, and digging a french drain in the yard all within a year of moving in)
Brian – the tree wallpaper in the guest bedroom

Biggest Indulgence:
April – the Anne Lemanski prints (Brian still cannot believe we have artwork priced that much in our nursery)
