Vintage collectors and bargain hunters rejoice! The arrival of Spring also means the beginning of flea market season. In anticipation of this exciting event, I've rounded up a list of some of the country's best flea markets. 

There's no time like Spring to say out with the old and in with the new. Apparently this notion also applies to retailers, as we're seeing more and more spring warehouse sales. We're also seeing more special events, like CraftBoston and the NYC Green Festival, now that the weather's warming up. The first thing that struck me about the DC Design House this year was how much bolder it is than in years past. I wouldn't call any of the rooms risky per se, but there's a hint of edge in most, and some sweet ideas to glean from each.

For example, Iantha Carley's morning room (seen above) is design sunshine — a mix of textile patterns, bold artwork, and oversize light fixtures, all tempered by a generous amount of white in the high wainscoting. 

My favorite time of year in Washington, D.C. is cherry blossom season, which is right now. With the snow and freezing rain pounding down in Toronto, I've been thinking about how much I miss living in D.C. at this time of year. Along with pining over a home that got away, I'm feeling nostalgic for a former city.

Spring seems to be taking its sweet time in getting started across much of the country. If you're feeling a little sluggish from this cold and rainy Spring, perhaps a little retail therapy is what you need.
