Megan & David’s “Happy Combo of Clean and Cluttered”

We’re Megan and David and we love our cozy, bright apartment. We live in a one bedroom, one bath apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The amount of natural light throughout the day is my favorite part of our home. We have a great view out the north and south windows as well.

Our place has two covered balconies, (one off the kitchen, the other off the bedroom) in-unit washer/dryer, and private elevator. The living room and kitchen are open, so our couch divides the room in two. On the backside of the couch I have a standing desk/hobby table, where I sew and craft. We have a little nook for our shared computer in the living room. Off the kitchen is a short hallway to the bedroom. David’s closet and the bathroom are across from each other.

Our decor style is a happy combo of clean and cluttered. We mix in apple crates from my grandparents, art pieces from One Kings Lane, my own simple watercolor paintings, plus a mix of both of our photographs.

We’ve lived here almost two years and have changed the layout several times. The bar cart and media storage have gone through the most iterations. There was also that one time when I gave away our coffee table to a friend and David thought we were robbed. The new coffee table is way cuter.
