I would have never thought to paint the sewing machine table but it looks great! Gives it new life. Love your dining area and naked kitchen window, too. Sweet space!

What's the deal with the kitchen floor tiles? Were they DIY? Guess what I want for my kitchen. . . .

I still use my treadle sewing machine, it's definitely a functional item not just for decoration. That thing can sew through 3 layers of canvas and two of leather and has sewn sails. I even sewed on it by kerosene light, making 1890's ball gowns for Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous costumes. Seems sad for one to end up like this, almost as sad as seeing a perfectly good wood cookstove used as a window display instead of turning out loaves of bread in somebody's cabin. Ah well, to each their own.
