I never use the acronym "omg", but this is one house tour that deserves an OMG. so beautiful with great touches of personality. if only I had free reign to "fantasy girlify" our home. off to put out an ad for "Marxist" on my local craigslist....

btw, can i ask what type of cord you used to hang your pictures? I have picture rails in our apartment and am still figuring out how to hang frames from them. Is there a special way to attach the cord to the eyelets of the frame?

The layout is my ideal apt. If only I could find this in Chicago and affordable in my budget - which isn't much. Love the comment about who to date - my boyfriend and I moved in together recently and I'm trying to hide most of his stuff. Thanks for sharing!

I will answer some questions for Giulia. Toile seems to be holding up wonderfully in the bathroom. The pillows on settee are from Calypso Home. The kitchen was renovated by previous owner. Headboard is from West Elm and is actually a room divider standing behind the bed.

I love the kitchen and bedroom. Great layout.. it looks so much bigger than 900 sq feet!

To Steph, the red slipper chairs are from ABC, they are made by Cisco Brothers.

Selena, I get the cables and hooks from Lee's Art Shop on West 57th Street, they are in the framing department and they are expensive (about $20 a pop). Many hardware stores also sell fishing line and wall hooks that can be used for this purpose. I use a combination.

GHB, I got the red step ladder stool on ebay but Target also has them, they are made by a company called coco, do a google search and you'll find many venues from which to purchase one.

Turtlesq is right about Thomas Paul.

Jennifer in SF, the paint color in the bedroom is Benjamin Moore's Portland Gray, it is incredibly beautiful. I thought it would be gray but it turned out to be a sort of lavender which is stunning, and I'm thrilled with it even though I had to buy the new shades.

And to I Love Upstate: I have a tray addiction too! I think it's because I love to serve, especially those boyfriends who I do not want living with me. Paradoxically, my compulsion to serve scares them away. I am writing a book about this.

Jan Brady, previous owner redid the kitchen, she was brilliant and I was lucky to inherit from her.

Hi Giulia, this is a great apartment. I am a bit late with questions but I wanted to know where did you buy: 1. the big mirror in your bedroom and 2. that box (or basket) where you put magazines in the living room.
