We were in the very fortunate position of being able to build our own house. We both loved the idea of a large loft space, so decided it was now or never. The journey started off a bit bumpy as it was difficult to find an architect that wasn’t corrupted by the mainstream. We eventually found our house in the mind of a young rookie. High risk, high reward.

The design process was a blast, we finally had a canvas that we could do anything we wanted with. Of course finding finishes that are unconventional also presented a challenge. We however overcame this hurdle by trawling pawn shops and garage sales. If we couldn’t find it we made it. Our old furniture was repaired and repainted as was the “new” furniture.

Building this house has enabled us to free our minds completely. We really put it all out there. It’s a reflection of our personalities and most importantly it’s a exhibition our love for each other.
