Name: Paige & Dwight
Location: Denton, Texas

Our little home is located just north of downtown Denton, Texas. The 1100 square foot, 1940s home is one that Dwight bought over a decade ago and he gutted it a couple of years ago, preserving the mantel and as much of the hardwood flooring as possible, but replacing almost every single other detail in the home.

In the process of the remodel, he removed the walls between the dining, living, and front bedroom spaces to create an open floor plan for a new living/dining area and put in pocket doors between the spaces. Though we got married last October, the DIY renovation didn’t wrap up until summer, so we are just now merging our giant collections of art and precious sentimental things.

We are a painter/designer (Paige) and sculptor/prosthetist (Dwight) and each came into the relationship with a long history of collecting both art and objects. Because our things are colorful and we knew we had a zillion paintings to cram onto the walls, we chose Sherwin Williams “Sensible Hue” for the walls and trim throughout the house to create a clean and neutral backdrop.

To set the bedroom off as a dark and restful cave of a space, we chose Sherwin Williams “Mount Etna” and accented with the bright Peruvian wool blanket and hand-knotted Moroccan rug we have picked up on our travels.

Throughout the house, the focus is on the art and all of the handmade things that friends and family have created over the years, so it feels like a really comfortable collaboration and fresh start for us both.

Thanks, Paige & Dwight !
