Gone are the days when we only had off-white or gray washer and dryers to choose from. Just like many other home goods, such as KitchenAid mixers and Le Creuset pots, that come in a wide variety of classic and seasonal colors, washers and dryers are starting to appear in fun palettes, too. Since they're a necessity for most homes (and a luxury in small spaces), it's great to explore how they can add a nice pop of color as well.
Many appliance brands offer dark blue and red along with the classic dark steel, silver, black and white options. And we're quite partial to the kelly green and retro pink options.

I always find Pink appliances funny..almost like the Easy Bake Ovens when we were kids. :o) I do love the blue ones...
I'd love the red LG ones. Saw them at Home Depot last night, they are about $1600. The silver ones are only $1100. But the red ones do come with more function, such as steaming.
I've recently switched all my kitchen stuff to red. Turns out it is rather easy to find red appliances, pots and utensils. Red stuff are easy enough to find, but still look very special.
I'm just grateful to have laundry in my apartment. I couldn't care less that they aren't a vibrant colour. In fact, I kinda like white...
Thank baby jebus. Can we please please please stop seeing all kitchens with all chrome now?
I have the red Duet washer-dryer as shown in the lead photo. The red is gratifying, but my favorite indulgence was the pedestals (which are not attached and which cost extra). In addition to the storage, they put the doors at a much nicer height for loading. These appliances are also quiet and efficient, and they play a little song when they're done, instead of an annoying buzz.
I just recently purchased a brand new washer and dryer set. I was greatly disappointed to learn that the exact same white models offered in different colors are more $$$. another shining example of 'good design' costing more. grrrrrr.
My mom has the LG ones- they are FANTASTIC. She washes quilts, pillows, etc, and hasn't ever thrown off the bin. Worth every penny. She's had them for a few years now, and the pedestal saves you from the ol' "heave ho" throwing the clothes from washer to dryer (and your back).
Ooh, YUMMY! ESPECIALLY the pink! Does anyone know what the "front door" is? I looked at the website but it didn't seem to say.
This made me realize, duh, why not paint my old, mismatched but perfectly functional set? This could be really fun. And a hella better than spending a couple $thou more!
The pink one is adorable and I never thought I'd ever describe a washer as such.
My parents wanted white or chrome/silver washer and dryers but the ones on sale were Samsung red ones so that's what they got (like $1k difference for color!!!). My reaction was red...? But it looks really good. I would love a blue one.
I like the clean-ness of white in the laundry room, but my head is turned by that green Electrolux set...
Pity they are all front loaders.
My Fisher & Pykel white top loader machine will do me.
Would go back to the old wringer machine before have a front loader.
Love the bright green units though...thinking washing machine...thinking SPRAY CAN of paint.
Nah.
We have # 5 in red and we love it! Those kelly green ones are a contender though! :)

I love the pink one which also comes in blue and is available with a sink on top! The door is to match the washer with other Smeg appliances like refrigerators. In Europe it's common to have laundry in the kitchen so the door camouflages it (sort of). I would love to have all Smeg 50's style appliances!
Count us among the disappointed that the exact same functionality in color costs more. At least for the LG washer/dryer we just got. Fortunately, a big box retailer had the greyish ones on sale for the same cost as the white ones so we could at least get "not white"
Electrolux doesn't make Kelly Green anymore...
Am I the only weirdo that thinks WHITEgoods should be WHITE? I think the colours are all wrong, and I hate the fact my new kitchen has to have stainless steel appliances. I so much prefer the clean, crispness of white :(
