Name: Randal Dawkins
Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC
This is my small apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I am an antiques buyer for a Manhattan firm and an interior designer. My aesthetic is a layered look — filled with antiques and art of many periods and styles. I like to consider my apartment my miniature English country house.
Thanks Randal!

This is pretty awesome!
How small is your place?
Wow, I love it. Its like a museum only its quaint and cozy. Beautiful!
amazing. not what I would choose to live in, but done with skill.
Layering is NOT easy, buy you nailed it! Love, love, love.
Can't wait for the full house tour...... (?)
HA! How cute is this!?! It's like a twenty-first century mini-John Soane museum! I love it.
You've got some amazing antiques - especially those two bureaus/dressers! A refreshing change from all the mid century modern and painted furniture we usually see here.
This apartment has a great feel to it: very warm and erudite.
What is that plaque above the french doors? The one with the black background and tan -- Greek, maybe? -- people and horses? I wish there were a close-up. It looks fantastic.
i love the cobalt blue walls with the gold frames & gold accent pieces. utterly charming!
love the blue walls! there are so many things hung but for some reason they don't make the room feel cluttered, they just make it even cozier.
Looks like an antique shop.
I made a velvet quilt that looks very like yours, using all scraps from friends and some deconstructed thrift-store finds. It looks much nicer in your house, though :)
Also happy to see gold frames again. Thanks for sharing your home.
Layering to a T, what a fabbo job. I could not imagine where to begin with so much stuff and putting some order to it all. Love the blue walls.
I am very glad to see that no one is telling you in the comments that you have way too much clutter. You have an adorable place, so cozy and warm. I also want to know how big it is.
I love the chair on the sideboard--fun!
Do you have someone to help you dust? I love this sort of look but have really pared back because I can't deal with the housekeeping required.
Lovely! There are some well chosen pieces...and the blue walls really bring them out.
The blue walls with the gold framed work are great, and the place does look cosy.
I am however one who does think there could be little more editing done with the wall art work. For instance in the last photo, the one with the door. I'd take away the first two photos in the top row, and the last one, and let the one with the black background stand more on it's own.
I think instead of putting that much art work on the wall, it would be nicer to limit it a little ( just a tad too much for me right now), and switch them out from time to time.
I like a lot! (But I want a view of the velvet quilt -- is it on the bed??)
Really imaginative and original - I could definitely hang out here very happily.
It's a welcome change from the many identikit tours so often featured. Love it.
Okay I am NOT a fan for those small pictures hung every where on a wall... although I make exceptions for those family photo walls down a staircase because I think they are so sweet. Nonetheless, I can't even begin to say how much I love this place. It is really well done, and authentic without feeling museum-like. I feel like someone who really does love this style live here, and to me that makes all the difference in even the element I would normally like the least. Great job!
@ Ondine- a welcome change, indeed!
I would love to see a full house tour.
Very cool, and very different from most Williamsburg homes. LOVE the blue walls!
very sweet--second the call for a full house tour!
Jolly good, dear boy, pip pip!
I personally like the walls of pictures. And they go with the English Country House style - the pictures are hung the way they would have been in an English Country House's Salon, or picture gallery. Very apropos, and very elegantly executed.
I want a House Tour, too!
Love your style. Colors, accessories, antiques, etc... You know your stuff!!!
You've nailed the English country house look! The cobalt wall color is gorgeous. It's great when people have the guts to use bold color in small spaces. What paint did you use?
Clearly, this is the home of someone who's deeply knowledgeable and passionate about antiques. Wonderfully individual and stylish. I love the mix of rich & mellow colors and the sure-handed layering of different textures.
AT, please consider a follow-up house tour (and a sketch of the overall layout)!
Thank you AT for broadening your perspective a bit. Please, sirs. Might we have some more?
Oh my god, this is so beautiful!
Medusa12120- Please do.
I love this apartment. I'd love to hang out there with a cup of tea and a great book on a winter night.
How cozy and delightful. It's like a dream!
I would like a full house tour with all the space saving little details!
This is absolutely incredible! I tend to appreciate most styles visually but, I could never imagine being content living in a place where I was not surrounded by history. I would also have to force myself to go out if I lived in such a fantastic place. Thanks! BTW, for those who find it somehow unlivable, nothing here appears nailed or welded in place.
