This month we're all about renting on Apartment Therapy so when this quick peek inside an amazingly well-designed rental arrived by email, we were thrilled to get it up on the blog.
Christopher writes: My home is where I am most myself. I use it as a design laboratory for my Interior design career. I enjoy playing with eclectic style, tonal values and unexpected quirk that brings a smile to my family and friends.
Thanks, Christopher!

Love!
Great neighborhood - great apt!
Beautiful apartment, and the decor is great. Well done, Christopher!
That MOULDING! Jealous! Anyone have a really good resource for installing one's own moulding?
Stuffy but with a touch of whimsy..would like to see more.
There's a lot going on but everything fits with purpose.
Love the coffee table! Your apt looks like a lot of fun.
Delightful! So attractive and comfy-looking, both visually and physically. I could relax in this home. I'm intrigued by the coffee table.
Great neighborhood and nice to see such nice style!
Love the home and yes its a great neighborhood! I know as i live there.
I second Moxie, DIY moulding?
That put a smile on my face. Love the opening shot of your living room.
Beautiful! When are you moving? ;)
Thanks so much for showcasing rentals! If you Google "new york times rent v. buy" you might be in for the shock of a lifetime. Dh and I are renting from now on.
So Jealous!!! The mouldings, the floors, the french doors....
Insane coffee table. I live in a crappy carpeted Miami Apt. with uneven walls :-(
Can't wait to move!!!
Congrats!!! enjoy it for the rest of us...
Oh this is lovely, and I must know the source for the pit bull/rifle art! That's the cutest thing I've seen in ages!
Wow I wish I could decorate something as sophisticated as this. I like the black walls.
I love the dog print in the second picture! Does anyone know where it is from?
Being a JC resident myself I can't even imagine what your monthly rent is...yeah I'm jelly.
I covet your rug. Unashamedly. And ADORE the dog print - this place deserves a house tour!
I love the combination of the sublime and the ridiculous. All interior design should be able to take itself this lightly.
I too must know about the dog image!
More, please.
Very nicely put together. The red bear or mouse on the console may be the the quirky touch of whimsy the owner likes, but to me, it looks out of place among the sophisticated items.
Stunning. Very sophisticated
Love! And way to represent Jersey city..People there are TONS of beautiful spaces here, case in point!
I love the way the whimsical red plastic animal form balances/answers to the serious Phoenician horse antiquity under the table. Great style.
yay for featuring jersey city! i love it here. and i am obsessed with that dog print. someone must know where to get it?!
i love this apartment!
We replaced mouldings in our apartment. We purchased moldings at Home Depot or Lowes, I forget which one, but they have a lot of selection for original style moldings. We bought a variety or dental and rope style. Just go to either website and enter in the search.
We had a handy man install it... If you don't have old worn out moldings to remove it may be easier to install.
Looks like the artist of the dog print is Dylan Egon:

I would love to know where that rug in the living room is from!
@Repunzel and @Florida Joyce, the red bear is a Be@rbrick. They are made by a Japanese toy company called MediCom, but in the art world they are collector's items, especially if their design was by a guest artist.
Gorgeous flat. Looks almost Parisian. i think the red bear looks great - like he is guarding all the other artefacts.
love it
I love the little horse especially and the art on the walls
Thanks everyone so much!!!!!This was such a great surprise while I was looking the blog.
The apartment will actually be coming on the market in the next few months and is really affordable.
I'm starting up my own design studio if anyone needs anything
please feel free to reach out!
