Oh the challenges of a rental! Especially one in a modern building of the sort that seem to be replacing the classic old Spanish-style buildings in our neighborhood. Beige carpeting, skimpy rooms and clauses that limit painting or marring walls in any way, a dilemma if you're considering replacing cheap mini-blinds with curtains. How exactly do you hang a curtain rod without making a hole in the wall and risk losing your security deposit?...
Slide on Brackets to the rescue! Simply slide off the end cap and slide on the curtain rod attachment. The system hold up to 10 pounds, enough for even the most enthusiastic curtains. When you're ready to move, just slide off the curtains, slide on the old end caps and retrieve your security deposit. Click here; and don't forget to check out the video to see these in action.

Nuts. I got all excited until I went to the website and saw they only work for mini-blinds...I have vertical blinds in my apartment. :-( Anybody have an idea for those? Maybe some kind of DIY?
love the idea. Can't paint her but luckily i'm able to hang curtains and so forth.
Gotta put this in the idea bank for next time though.
Is it really that hard to patch holes when you leave???
"Is it really that hard to patch holes when you leave???"
It's not.
When I was a kid growing up in US Military Base Housing, the thng to do was to fill all the holes in the walls with Colgate toothpaste...
Even if the hook holds up, there could be damage from the extra weight on the blinds. We have had less-than-securely mounted blinds in several apartments. They sometimes came off the window just from being raised and lowered! I would be afraid to add more weight.
We put holes in the walls and spackle, spackle, spackle when we leave.
yeah, I just punch the holes, they're easy to fix. LOL @ the Colgate! They do have spackle in cute tubes like that now just for filling holes that way, though.
To tell the truth, though, I'm a little dubious about the sheetrock's ability to hold up the drapes, too.
The previous tenant of my old apartment used toothpaste to fill holes, though I'm pretty sure she didn't use standard colgate, and used some gel or something. It was disgusting -- the walls smelled minty and were sticky to the touch in places the holes used to be.
