Local window coverings purveyor Conrad Shades specializes in elegantly unfussy hand-woven window coverings, including roman fold shades, custom drapery, cornices, a Sliding Panel Shade System, and drapery for outdoor living spaces. We came across them while looking for window coverings for bay windows and other large expanses of glass, a wonderful feature of many Victorian flats, but one that can be a bear to deal with.
Most of Conrad's shades can be custom-fit into the corners of bay windows so that they work smoothly. And for large glasss expanses that are flat, there's the aforementioned
sliding panel shade system, pictured above.
We like the look and functionality of the panels: minimal and structured but with enough texture and warmth to keep them from looking hospital-y. If you have a great view, the panels use a cord system to stack neatly to the side or in the center.
The catch with these (and all) their products is that they're available only to the trade, and we wern't able to get general prices. But here's a tip for AT:SF readers from Kneedler | Fauchère's (the manufacturer) regional sales rep, Patrick Mouton:
"Most designers use installers to do the measuring and installation so you would normally pay for both services (designers fee and installers fee) instead of just one."

They look great, i don't even know where to start. Once again simple elements make great taste. Choosing right window coverings can be difficult because we can find a wide range of offers and that come along whit new possibilities to redecorate or "upgrade" our homes. I find these photos most inspiring...
