There are a lot of leather sofas out there. And a lot of them, unfortunately, are really, really ugly. Since finding a good-looking leather sofa in a modern style can be such a daunting task, we decided to round up a few of the best ones in one place.
The sofa in the lead image looks like a vintage design by Børge Mogensen—here's a very similar one for $7,724.56 from 1st Dibs. You can find more by doing a search for the designer's work, although we'll warn you—they're definitely not cheap.
Here's another, slightly more rustic design: the Arne Norell Ilona. Arne Norell's Kontiki also has a nice look. You can see more of his pieces here.
If you like the vintage sofas pictured above you can also search 1st Dibs for similar styles, which start at around $1,500. Of course, there are also plenty of lovely leather sofas you can buy new, but I'm partial to the worn-in, vintage look.
The Standard Sofa's long, low-slung shape makes it perfect for modern interiors. It can also be ordered with a brass base, and it's made in the U.S., so you can be satisfied that you're paying top dollar for something that is top quality.
A very similar style to the Ilona pictured above at a (slightly) lower price point is the Rhys settee from Anthropologie. It's available in quite a few colors, and a 3 seater style is also available for $4,998.00.
This 73" sofa has a shape that just exudes cool. The wrapping detail on the arms is a nice touch.
The Axel leather sofa also comes in black and is a roomy 89" wide. It's also available as a 76" sofa and a 60.5" sofa (more of a settee, really).
This leather sofa from online furniture retailer Article has the looks of a much more expensive piece at a modest price.
Also from Article, a simple, modern shape at a really nice price.
Another Florence Knoll-esque style, available in white, grey, dark brown, and black.
If you're looking for a budget-friendly leather sofa, this is a great option.
