When you’re out to win the game-day spread, we’ve got just the right play for you. Follow our lead by channeling a super-decadent side dish, and make your next party dip taste like a loaded baked potato.

Why Your Dip Deserves This Upgrade

Inspired by a classic loaded baked potato, this three-ingredient upgrade of crumbled bacon, creamy shredded cheddar, and sliced scallions gives basic bean dip the MVP treatment. It’s exactly the sort of hearty, indulgent dip you want to scoop up again and again, be it game day or any other time you’re having people over for a festive get-together.

How to Make It

Start with 2 cups of bean dip (your choice of homemade or store-bought). Stir in about 6 strips of cooked, crumbled bacon, 1/3 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and 3 thinly sliced scallions (green part only). Top with additional shredded cheddar and scallions, if you like. Double (or triple) as necessary, and store in a covered container in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve.

With the help of just a few staple ingredients you probably have on hand already, you can turn a batch of homemade or store-bought dip into an impressive appetizer loaded with more texture and big flavor. This series gives you the inspiration to turn a basic bean, cheese, or yogurt dip into the MVP of the Super Bowl spread.
