Name: Veronica
Location: Caracas, Venezuela
My apartment is quite small and I am lawyer so I have to read a lot. I really enjoy it,and didn't want to have the typical 50 inch tv on my living room wall...
I needed a library but it had to be different, so I made one inspired by a mandala. I think the carpenter did a great job, exactly what I designed!
Thanks, Veronica!

Ercol Bar Stool
Love this.
Well done! It looks really great.
So cool!
So cool!
That's pretty amazing. I thought it was too much at first then I thought, "nope amazing".
It's both a bookcase and wall art! Awesome.
really really cool storage, and great modern girly color scheme
OH MY GOD!
This is fantastic!
Fantastic
V, what is that little stool in the background with the wooden legs and oatmeal upholstered fabric seat? I don't think I've seen one like that before.
This is insane and I want it!! One hell of a good job Veronica.
WOWI! What an amazing creation...and out of such simple pieces. Looks like a huge investment in time and energy, not to mention wall space, but it totally pays off.
I only have one word for it..... WOW!!!
Nice design!
I am so glad no one is giving you grief over "tilting the books" or "putting pressure on them" or whatever it is they normally point out when bookcases get creative. This looks AWESOME. What a gorgeous and unique focal point!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! So creative too. I don't read too much books now that I'm out of college, but I would start collecting them just so I could have a bookshelf design like that on my wall. Brilliant! :)
Veronica FTW!
Novel, functional and beautiful. So impressive
Fantastical
Seriously where did you get the chaplin?
WOWOWOW!!
Love this! almost enough to rip out my 12' wall of built ins [though we'd really miss the murphy bed].
Que lindo! Super creative, very beautiful!
Like the shelves. I have way too many books to do something like this. Great idea though and very artsy.
Is it just me who wants to see a House Tour?
Now sure if it is practical, BUT it is such a unique and stunning idea that I wouldn't even care LOL
Yes ade, I want a house tour too now!!!
agree I'd love a house tour and will cry if a boyfriend moves in and demands that space for a tv
Very creative. I like the light fixture, too.
I like this, even though it's not for me. It reminds me of the Ojos de Dios I used to make when I was a teen in the 70's.
Hey, no kudos to the craftsman that made that wonderful work? That is indeed wonderful work. It's a grand focal point without forcing itself on you. Very well balanced. Wondering about at mirror in the middle. NAH, it needs a bowler hat in the center, just like Chaplin has!
I love it, but I am a Librarian and @Lauren C, it DOES damage books to store them pulling the weight of the pages against the spine. So that is a consideration, whether or not anybody wants to hear it. (The shelves are gorgeous, I agree -- I'd just be careful which ones I used for books I cared about. The others might hold other decorative items, or magazines, or something.)
That is fantastic.
Like it and like symmetry, but it'd be too much of a 'flower' for me. Glad the Yays outweigh cringe and Nay group.
Veronica, you knocked my socks off. This is terrific!
This is totally amazing!
Perfect. Excellent job. Love it when people design things and hire locals to do it instead of getting some off the shelf junk from China.
Gorgeous!
Stunning! I am so inspired.
Excellent
I built an account just to leave feedback- this is amazing, just amazing.
Magnificent -- dazzling yet strangely simple. As for any damage to the books: Totally worth it.
I would have agonized over picking a color for the wall behind it, because that is not going to be easy to change. Seems like Veronica has a secure sense of her palette, however.
Would it be better without the things on top? Can't decide.
That is one of the most unique (in a good way) things I've seen in a while. It's really creative and wonderful! I agree with taking the stuff off the top.
Thank you all for the nice comments!
Awesome idea. I bet this could be done with prebuilt cubes from Ikea for those not wanting to hire a carpenter.
Veronica, what is the chandelier light fixture?
Where did you get the cubes from?
I would love to have my husband build me this case - can you tell me the dementions of the boxes?
I was wondering how your carpenter anchored the cubes into the wall, how much weight can they support? I mean it looks like it supports quite a bit, but I would need to know for sure. Thanks! LOVE THIS!
Just noticed another post...dimensions of cubes would be helpful too...
DeAnn
You should be able to use any dimensions you want; they are just cubes and the only difference would be the overall size of the work. Make them proportional though, in the photo it looks like maybe 5" - 8" - 11" based on the standard sizes of books that are shown. If you practice with cardboard first, it should be pretty easy (as long as you have a good carpenter!).
**inside dimensions so the books fit!
