White Enamel Flatwa...
Love the title of this post! I agree, none of these flush mount sucks. They're all so gorgeous, can't choose which is my favorite!
Thank you!! I have been dying to find a semi-flush mount for my sewing studio for over a year and they are so hard to find!
Of course they don't have to suck when they're $500. Find me one that doesn't suck for $50 (no really, please, I've looked everywhere)!
Exactly Jess13. I need two for my hall. Madly in love #10, but $1400 for light fixtures far exceeds my budget.
I found a gorgeous flush (chrome & Chrystal) on overstock.com for about $150. It was awhile ago but they always have beautiful options.
Really love #2, but DANG--$987.00!! Could definitely do #7 though at "only" $232.10 (.10 cents...really?).
I used a 60 dollar CB2 Edan pedant shade as a flush mounted shade. I think it looks great and not expensive at all: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/joses-275-square-foot-white-an-140422

There's always IKEA. It's not fancy, but it's not $500, either.

We have two #13s in our kitchen and I love them!! Some how I was able to get them for $25 each.
I have #11 in a guest bedroom. I think it looks terrific. Recent guest told me it "looked like a cat litterbox." lol
At least I have this AT post to give me validation for my choice.
Here's my cheapass contribution to all you fine people:

Really digging that second one, but I've got a bathroom remodel to save up for.
Found something perfectly acceptable at the hardware store.
I don't know about $50, but you should be able to find plenty of reasonably priced, quality light fixtures at your local lighting shop. (Not Lowe's or Home Depot, but the local guys...) If you buy more than one fixture or have an electrician, ask for the contractor's discount, they will usually give you a better price.
Note: Most lighting manufacturer's actually have set MSRP's, so you can't find better deals online-- it's against the advertised pricing policy. However, you CAN get better pricing at a local shop, but you wouldn't see it advertised. Kichler, Quoizel, Murray Feiss, Maxim Lighting-- all well priced brands!
I bought an orb teardrop three tier chandelier ,like number 8, on Joss and Main for under sixty bucks. They do daily sales, sometimes it's very pricey, sometimes just right. Seriously, these are beautiful, but I would not pay two car payments for one. Anyone who sees something they like, and know how to use a search engine, can find similiar if not the same item for a much lower price on the net. You just have to be diligent and resourceful.
All of my local shops are outrageously overpriced, so I've stuck to online retailers, Home Depot and Lowes. Schoolhouse Electric makes amazing flushmounts. A good splurge if you're on a budget. All said and done, I think they're all under $300.
I purchased #20 last year for my entryway. It is an amazing "nautical" fixture at a reasonable price point!
There are really cool and reasonably priced lights at LampsPlus.com. You can even design your own shade. Check them out (And no, I don't work for them or own stock. I just like the lights.) http://www.lampsplus.com/products/manufacturer_giclee-glow/category_close-to-ceiling-lights/
What a nice alternative to boob lights :)
You might be surprised what you can find at Home Depot, though of course they carry many that totally suck. They have a schoolhouse version that is quite nice, for example -- I think it is new, because I saw it yesterday but didn't a few months ago when I bought my overhead lights on Overstock, which is also an excellent source.
I have these horrible low ceilings and found a crystal light at a salvage house in Alabama. It wasn't $50, but it wasn't $1400, either!!

"Of course they don't have to suck when they're $500. Find me one that doesn't suck for $50 (no really, please, I've looked everywhere)!"
Number 13, my favourite of the lot, is $52.20. Far from looking "everywhere", you don't appear to have even looked through this list!
@Blandwagon: huh, guess I should have clarified my statement with "find me one that doesn't suck and look like it came out of my grandmother's basement for $50."
See, I can be rude too.
They are selling something extreamly similar to #7 at my local costco for i think $69 and its great! Also Rona and home depot have #3 i swear. at under $100
