A Well-Designed Day in London
Heather Kane moved to London (specifically Clerkenwell) a little over a year ago for work. In her own words: “It’s been amazing. This city is my favourite of all the places I’ve lived so far… The architecture is amazing, it has endless quaint neighborhoods to discover and it’s the perfect place to explore the rest of Europe from, which I like to do as often as I can.” As someone interested in interior design (as evidenced by her gorgeous London home) and a self-proclaimed “expert eater of delicious food,” she tells us that she’s in love with her life thanks to all the great places at her fingertips. She shares a handful of favorite spots around her home that a fellow design lover might like to check out next time they’re in London.
Heather Kane has lived in London for over a year. Below, she shares her version of what a well-designed Sunday in her city (with her partner Cam) looks like:
A quick breakfast at a local favourite: @themodernpantry
On the 55 headed to get some flowers and whatever else strikes our fancy.
At Pure White Lines Antiques and Interiors and this enormous old railroad mirror is mine! I can’t wait to find a good spot for it. @purewhitelines
Columbia Road Flower Market is a Sunday favourite. [Open Sundays from 8am ’til 3’ish according to the website. Explore more photos here.]
Paul makes the best hot chocolate in the world. It’s thick and dark and I can never finish a small. This chocolate was always my first stop after landing when I was just a visitor here. [There are lots of locations in London!]
Sunday afternoon nap time. And planning next weekend in Istanbul.
The Pig and Butcher for a Sunday roast.

Our “well-designed day” neighborhood guides are a visual tour of what a great day looks like from the perspective of a local.
You’ve loved the peeks inside gorgeous homes from around the world, so we thought we’d ask house tour stars to share their other homes—the neighborhoods and cities they live in. These are the stylish, colorful, bold and fun spaces that these locals would visit if they were designing a great day of stopping at favorite spots (or lounging around at home!). You can follow on our Instagram as we post images from their well-designed day and read more about this series.
