The TV room? That's a cinch. The office? Easy as pie. You want to know where we're really struggling to wrangle our wires? It's the bathroom. There's no TV stand to hide them behind. No under-desk clips to install. Your hair dryer, curling iron or beard razor—and their wires—either have to be out in full cord-spaghetti display or banished to the depths of your drawer to meet their tangled fate. Right? Wrong. Here's a bunch of other ways to keep bathroom cords tidy.
Bathroom appliances are a necessary evil for most of us. But it's impossible to keep your bathroom looking tidy when your electric razor storage solution is "leave it draped across the counter."
Instead, go for one of these storage and cord control solutions. Ranging in price from $40 all-in-one units to DIY projects that are nearly free, you'll find something to suit your bathroom tech style.

I'd like to see a version of this for electric/rechargeable toothbrushes. Love my toothbrush, hate the wire leading from the outlet to the recharger...
A great way to do it if you are starting fresh with the bathroom is to provide an outlet inside the cabinet, so the cord is only visible when you're actually using the appliance... we can dream, right?
My issue with bathroom appliances is similar to my issue with bed-making... what about when you use it EVERY DAY, making a fancy cord-shortening system annoying and impractical (at least for me)... I do wind up and properly store my flat iron and my curling iron... but between hubby and I we use the blowdrier twice a day, and it would just NEVER happen that the cord got re-wound each time and nicely hidden away.
Props for an incredibly useful post! I'm struggling to come up with cord solutions for our own bathroom, especially since there's a single awkward socket and lots of things that need powering, and little storage. These are really helpful ideas.
I really like the 3rd shot; I have a square glass vase I am not currently using.
My Conair blowdryer has a retractable cord. Score! I highly recommend it. We don't often use anything else electric in the bathroom.
I remember watching Homemade Millionaire and thinking, that's the only person that was ready to run her own business. She was sharp, articulate and believed in her product.
I have a makeshift organizer that looks similar to number 7 but doesn't have the cord manager. If it weren't sold out I'd buy one right now.
I use one end of my towel bar as a hairdryer holster. If I wasn't a renter, I would put a towel rack on the side of the sink vanity, so it would be out-of-sight.
Okay - #4 with the storage behind the false front is GENIUS. I've always thought having a false front there was stupid, and it's good to see there are people out there capitalizing on that space!
In my last apartment I did #3 with a wine bucket. It was silver, a little worse for wear. It matched the fixtures and accessories and coordinated with the all over shabby chicness of the room.
My super handy father made a sink cabinet for my mother that has outlets inside on both sides. One for her blow dryer and one for his electric razor. Talk about his and hers!
I use an even easier method -- I put my hair dryer and curling iron and my husband's razor in a large, attractive bag (looks like a canvas beach bag) that we hand on its own hook. Nothing visible except for the bag.
Thank you! I have been trying to figure out this very problem in my bathroom, as well as how to get everything off the counter. I love the solution using the false front to the sink! I also like the PVC pipe idea...less bulky than an over the cabinet organizer.
Love the vase idea.
I had a cheap plastic basket with handles in a bright magenta (the floppy kind, narrow and tall). I just used to throw my huge blowdryer in there, curling iron and flat iron. For the flat iron, I have a travel heat resistant case for it, so after I finish using, I put in the case & throw the whole thing in the basket. Because the basket is narrow, I could usually just stow it away in some corner of the bathroom.
OMG, #3 is the most brilliant thing ever. I think jillelizabeth's solution could also be cool in the right bathroom.
I saw the toilet paper roll on AT a while back and have done that for my hair dryer and flat iron. It's great! I covered it in some scrap fabric, so its cute to look at too. Though I might look into putting some hooks on the side of my vanity for my hairbrush...
As a girl who uses a hair dryer and straightener every single day (an occasionally curling iron in the mix) I can't find any sense in anything but #1! I'm usually rushing out the door throwing everything in the closet and leaving the straightener out to cool. I do really love that first picture though....
I put one of these holster thingies on the side of the vanity for my hair dryer. I leave it plugged in because I use it all the time. It's very unobtrusive, although I like the vase idea, too.

I have been using a large coffee cup for years to keep very hot curling and flat iron, similar to the vase, but its still out on the counter- I recently found something simlar to #7 at Bed, Bath & Beyond; LOVE it! keeps all the mess under the counter! I can even leave everything plugged. Thanks for the idea!!!! My Bathroom thanks you too.
