Sometimes hosting overnight guests requires a complicated bedroom shuffle that can get even more complicated when factoring in the special needs of a toddler. It's a simple problem many parents run into when living in small spaces; finding a way to turn a day bed into a toddler haven without hearing bumps in the night.

Oliona took a classic IKEA Hemnes day bed and added a little safety and whimsey at the same time. See more photos of how this bright yellow cloud is attached to the bed and yet still easily removable here.

Love it! And that is one of my favorite IKEA beds :)
This is cute, but for an overnight guest, why not just put the bed's open side against the wall?
@ EK76 I'm not sure they won't grandma climbing to get into/out of bed any more than they want the kid doing it...
What a simple and super cute way to make sure a little one is safe on an over-night stay. Kudos! With that bright yellow cloud, I'd love to see the bed go a sky blue!! Nice job
Very sweet and creative. I'm impressed.
