Are you a Mary Blair fan? Best known for her influence in early Disney animation (including concept paintings for some of Disney’s most beloved films like Peter Pan, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland), her work is marked by vibrant color and sweet, but not immature portrayals of children. She also illustrated five Golden Books which are true treasures. Let’s take a look at some of her art used in children’s rooms and options for adding some yourself.

I found several children’s rooms in our archives which display Mary Blair art. Click through to see more of each room:

Wanting to add some Blair to your walls? Sadly, you don’t have a ton of options. Your best bets right now are:

Oopsy Daisy sells canvases, decals, growth charts, night lights and lamps inspired by Mary Blair and, most excitingly, reproductions of some of her original work.

A Mary Blair Treasury of Golden Books was published earlier this year and includes 4 complete books (including the acclaimed unabridged version of I Can Fly) illustrated by Blair and excerpts from a fifth. There’s also the Blair-illustrated Alice in Wonderland book (retold by Jon Scieszka). If you have the heart, you could dissemble a book to frame some of the art for your walls.

I also found a few Etsy artists who have made their own tribute art to Blair, very much in her style:

Mary Blair homage by Wax Whimsical
