How I feel about this amazing home, in one word: covetous.

I need to know more about that bathroom!! It looks like a big walk in shower ... but I saw a bathtub tap! Is it a giant tiled bathtub/shower?? With a separate area for sinks? This place is so gorgeous its getting me hot.

I think it is weird to put Castro as location, I was wondering where is Castro California I know the Castro district is it's own little city within SF but it threw me off.

Anyway, Love Love your home. Seems like you have a lot of rooms. I love your furniture, I swoon over that pale blue chair in the sitting room and the yellow sofas in the other living room. All the colors from room to room are really nice. The kitchen is so charming and enviting it just makes me want to make toast and have my coffee in there. I really like the way you used the IKEA bench tables in the kitchen, much better looking than the cheap white cabinets I have in my place.

The gold rug with the blue trim is beautiful! You guys did an excellent job of combining everything!

Your robin nest room is truly calming to look at. You all have a outstanding variation of furniture and are VERY, VERY lucky to have all the space to put them in. I can see the mood and personality of the people living here. So peaceful. Im drooling over your medicine cabinet! Gosh!!!!!!

holy crap, that was like five house tours in one. what a serious amount of living space. and BEAUTIFUL to boot. whew, i am on an envy high right now.

Relaxed and beautiful. Great color pallet, cohesive throughout the home.

Love their style! The mix of new, vintage, and antiques is so great and makes it feel so much more homey than a place that sticks strictly to one style of furnishings. Just beautiful.

I'm looking for the perfect blue for my living room. I know that you can't really judge colors on a computer monitor but my furniture has a similar color palate so it would be a great place to start.

It's hard to tell from photos, but the paint in the first picture looks really similar to Valspar's Flood Tide. I am well-acquainted with that color after spending many hours last week putting it on my living room wall!

I'm crazy about the light fixtures. They add a ton of style and look practical as well.

I am a chair whore and a shiba inu owner, and I have to say those chairs are fantastic, all of them, and the shiba is adorable!

Wow, I am floored. What a cool, cool home. I'm moving into a place that has alot of the same elements (minus the wainscoting in the foyer and super-sweet bathroom/walk-in shower) and you've helped me feel more confident in choosing color and incorporating of modern furnishings into a Victorian. This place is creative without feeling intimidating, I really like the flow of it.

If you could share your paint colors and possibly your address, I'd really appreciate it. And don't be surprised to come home one day and find your furniture and pup missing :)

There seems to be enough rooms to make about 4 houses. And I want to live in all of them.

What's not to love? It is warm, peaceful and there is so much character it almost seems unfair for it to be in one home. Outstanding.

Great color choices, good mix of vintage/eclecting and classic design pieces and Ikea, and man, that place is huge. And on Castro? Wow again.

Is one of the couches (in a room that seemed like a guest room maybe?) a foldable bed/couch? The one that had like a 60's aesthetic and black tube construction on the legs, and tufting? If yes, please do tell where it came from. I loved it.

This is marked to my 'favorite' file to revisit. Effortlessly gorgeous. You know when someone has that innate sense of style and whatever they put on it's special....this house has that type of style. I especially love the kitchen!

So. Boring.
It's like a compendium of all things that are 'approved of' in order to furnish and decorate your home. I feel like I've seen everything before. And yes, that includes the bat. (Although yours is a very nice example.) The house has some fantastic features -- the shelving in that parlor, the view in the master bedroom -- but it feels like its lacking soul, or maybe originality. Perhaps it's just that there is no challenge here that they had to overcome to push creativity.
Or have I just seen too many similar house tours?

I love, love, love everything, especially that turquoise and gold chair! Where can I get one like that?

i'm just a little weirded out by the fact that there are sooooo many living rooms!! why do you need so many different living rooms? it's just odd for what appears to be a couple. did you turn bedrooms into living rooms, too?

This place has style in spades yet doesn't seem "decorated". I've always said the best décor is based on people with taste filling a home with things they love (plus some space planning skills). That's exactly what I see here.

I seriously love this house. Interesting, totally fabulous without any of the Top 20 "oh, I can name that designer" pieces, and a great sense of color. Well done!

A lot of you had a lot of questions about the house so here are some answers:
I was so happy to read all the great comments Scott and Marie's house received. It is truly reflective of years of collecting interesting objects and making them all work together.
A few years ago Scott asked me to help him design his front livingroom and I was very happy to read all the great comments. He and Marie has successfully added a chandelier and the great art work since I last saw it, but it didn't look that wonderful when we first attacked it...
We started with custom cabinets, floating shelves, mirror, and the fireplace surround produced and installed by Woodshanti, then added honed black granite surround and hearth from Fox Marble. Custom painter Denny Holland finished the whole room in Creme de Carol white and a custom pale blue from G&R Paint's "Philip's Perfect Colors" color collection. The area rug was carpeting surged in blue to emphasize the pale blue and warm beige tones of the room from California Carpet. The apartment size sofas are from Lee Industries through New Deal and is probably the most popular and comfortable style I have used in the last few years as they are also perfect to sleep on for that occasional guest! They are surrounded by mirror and chrome tables from Global Views and a Jonathan Adler white lacquered floor lamp. The chair is traditonal wingback from Cisco Bros, but it is very clean and contemporary, and comfortable, and was upholstered in a flocked chenille on linen from Designers Guild through Osborne and Little. Next to it is a raw wood on cast iron leg table from Oly Studio. The ottoman is white and tan cowhide from Cisco Bros and brings a little irreverence to the whole room and is in stark contrast to the chair. I love the carefully placed accessories they have placed on the floating shelves - they look great and it is an easy way to change the look and feel of the room. This is easily one of my favorite rooms I've done in the last few years as it is interesting, and a real reflection of the client who is not that afraid to take some chances.
There are a couple of other items I really enjoyed seeing again: the custom designed leather and mohair sofa in the library (made by Retrospect) and the vintage wingback chair in the second livingroom in blond wood and shiny leather with a geometric print fabric on the outside back and sides - it was a find from Chelsea Antiques in Petaluma, one of my favorite places for "special" things.
