Brownstone is a true junk shop, and we mean that in the best way. It's exactly the kind of place where you could sort through piles of dusty furniture to find a full set of dining room chairs or a gorgeous chandelier that needs rewiring. Come with an open mind. There are deals to be had, but you'll need to roll up your sleeves to find them.
On our last visit, we found a green leather loveseat with nice bones priced at $250, brass chandeliers, an Asian-style screen, lots of secretaries and bookcases, and a pile of crocheted throws in bright colors. For lovers of old photography, there's a mail sorter at the front of the store stuffed with vintage black-and-white photos.
Located in the Andersonville neighborhood, Brownstone is less than a block from other local furniture boutiques like the White Attic, Scout, and Brimfield. It's an old-school shop without a website; you have to visit in person to buy.
