9 Vintage Industrial Stores for Conscious Consumers

What really makes a vintage product green? The type of durability that allows something to improve with age. If that's the case, then industrial furniture is some of the greenest stuff you can find. Designed to withstand heavy-duty wear, it's able to survive many lifetimes of use. Here are 10 good places (scattered across the US) to shop for industrial pieces.

Two Jakes: Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Two Jakes has a large inventory of used office furniture (much of it is suitable for home use). Shop here for vintage file cabinets, office chairs, and industrial tables.
Three Potato Four: Shop here for vintage signage, industrial accessories, and schoolhouse furniture at decent prices. They're also a great source for lettering and graphics if you need something for your walls.
Etsy: Etsy is always a good resource for metal toolboxes, wire baskets, vintage metal signage, and tabletop fans. Shops we like include LacklusterCo and Industrial Relic.
TINI Store: This Los Angeles store has a robust inventory of vintage industrial and mid-century furniture. Browsing their catalog recently, we found a few reasonably priced steel tanker desks.
Salvage One: This Chicago store is half architectural salvage shop and half antique store. They have quite a few industrial vintage office chairs, desks, and file cabinets, and pricing is reasonable.
Factory 20: This website and its sister store, Modern 50, have beautifully photographed online catalogs with highly curated pieces, though the prices can be a bit steep.
Rehab Vintage: Located in Los Angeles, this store (formerly Sonrisa Furniture) does a great job stripping and refurbishing of metal vintage metal furniture. Prices are on the high end, but the inventory is well edited.
City Foundry: Located in Brooklyn, this shop is open by appointment, or you can search their eclectic inventory online. Shop here for storage, lighting, and random "machine age" gems.
Get Back Inc.: A high-end store located in Connecticut, Get Back has a gorgeous open showroom (think exposed-beam ceilings, huge windows, and wide plank floors) stocked with industrial pendants, office furniture, tables, and tanker desks.
