The good news arrived by email this week — one of my favorite designers has entered the world of retail and the new store looks gorgeous. Jay Jeffers has opened up shop in San Francisco and, happily for those of us not on the West Coast, online, too.
Called Cavalier, the shop includes the new line of Jeffers-designed American made furniture along with a collection of new, custom and vintage pieces curated by Jeffers and the creative director, Michael Purdy. There is also a focus on including work from other designers and makers through a series of creative collaborations. Furniture, lighting, rugs, art, accessories, candles, jewelry, tea and books, all for sale, will fill the space - making it a perfect source for gifts as well as for finding pieces for your own home.
Located in the Tenderloin, Cavalier is housed in a 4,000 square foot space with 18 foot ceilings, and is set up to feel like you're visiting a chic city home. Plans for the shop also include hosting events such as exhibits, wine tastings and book signings.
Oh, and for those of you in SF - according to what I've read, "at Cavalier, imbibing and lounging are strongly encouraged" so, stop by, explore, have a cup of tea and make yourself comfortable.
Cavalier is located at 1035 Post Street in SF, Open from 11 - 6, Tuesday through Saturday.
