Los Angeles, California
Cisco Pinedo has become well known in the furniture industry as a leading designer of high quality upholstered furniture and unique casegoods.
Born in a small rural town in Jalisco, Mexico, his family decided to leave the country in search of a better life. In the mid-seventies, Cisco found himself in South Central Los Angeles with the challenge of learning a new language and trying to fit in a new culture. He was only 13 years old.
His drive for knowledge helped Cisco find a job for an upholstery manufacturer. With his typical hard work and perseverance he soon learned how to run a business first hand. In his early twenties, he began making custom furniture for neighbors out of his garage in his South Central home. As his small enterprise began to grow, he and his wife, Alba recruited the help of their family members to help him run their thriving business.

Cisco Home, where do I start? I could have stayed in their store all day admiring their unique furniture and furnishings such as the iron strap chandelier and glass jug lamps. Their furniture is known for their quality of materials and construction, which was evident when I tried to shift some of the furniture and needed a little help.
Featured Furniture: Manhattan queen bed, Zen bedside chest, Zen mirrors, Field bench, Hopkin chair
Cisco Home began as a continuation of designer Cisco Pinedo's custom furniture business — he was one of the first designers to create 100% FSC Pure sustainable upholstered furniture. In 2005, he also created Inside Green, which offers 100% sustainable handcrafted furniture. The moment I walked into the store I felt the passion and pride behind each piece. I don't like to pick favorites, but I just can't help but add this to my shortlist of top furniture stores.
