Last night, we were on hand for the Brooklyn opening of one of our favorite companies, FLOR. Get a glimpse of the scene at the newest location of this fast-growing, sustainable leader in modular floor tiles, after the jump.
Since 2003, FLOR has paved the way (pun intended) in bringing modular carpeting to residential design. Offering more than just a product that is practical and durable, FLOR's focus on design and sustainability is what has kept this company both on trend and in business—really good business, in fact. The opening in Brooklyn marks their seventh brick and mortar venture, and though they couldn't quite reveal an exact number, they have hinted at expanding their outreach across the U.S. in the very near future.
But why Brooklyn? President and founder Greg Colando (pictured charming the crowd above) notes:
"Brooklyn is on the cutting edge of all things design. Its neighborhood retail shops, art galleries and overall vibe emanate a sense of fashion and confidence we just had to be a part of. As the people of Brooklyn search for a new vision of design in their homes, we want them to spread the word about this revolutionary new way to cover your floors."
Stop into this store to experience first-hand the textures and options, play with their grid system to design your own rug and take advantage of their Return & Recycle Program by dropping off your old carpet squares in person.
