Hitting the road in her VW Vanogan Doka Truck, Carrie has traveled across the U.S. to source products for their high quality and fine craftsmanship. Carrie takes pride in the fact that her selection of items is of heirloom quality and each item has a lasting presence in one's life. A few favorites sourced locally from California include Dandelion Chocolate handmade in San Francisco, vintage Heath ceramics, and Wild Sage Honey from Jalama Road in Lompoc.
Although there is a great emphasis on gifting at this time of year, gifting is an age-old practice that represents two characteristics that serve as the inspiration behind the shop: human kindness and thoughtfulness. Half Hitch Goods believes that the pursuit of a gift should be based on knowledge of a person and what might delight them. Each item in the shop has a story behind it, which makes a gift purchased from Half Hitch Goods all the more special. For the stories behind the products, the Half Hitch Journal is a must read.

Store History
- Founded: 2012
- Founded by: Carrie Caillouette
- Headquarters: San Francisco
Owner and curator Carrie Caillouette worked as a merchant for several years at a premium home furnishings brand before realizing her lifelong dream of starting her own boutique. Inspired by her passion for collecting and gift giving and a love of the road, she has curated a unique assortment of items. Half Hitch Goods was born out of her love of heirloom quality products and the importance of spreading the power behind the gift giving process. Giving gifts is one of the most ceremonious, honorable, and selfless practices in most cultures all over the world. Half Hitch Goods believes it should be celebrated, studied and honored.
