Toby Burke Hemingway looked to the past when it came to naming his Silver Lake shop. The name Hemingway and Pickett is taken from his family's old Melbourne business. It was started by his grandfather in 1888 and grew into a large distribution network for stores of all kinds. Toby's shop focuses on art and design products from around the world, with a special focus on Australian items.
This is definitely a shop you'll want to visit if you're in the market for gifts. If you're in LA, you'll want to check out the physical store. The interior has been built out with reclaimed wood from shipping pallets, giving the shop a masculine feel that is totally on-trend. Don't worry if you're not in LA — there's a limited selection of goods on Hemingway and Pickett's website.
