Lost in aisles of trashy kitsch, Kontexur was born to revolutionize the design of bath products.

Why is it that you can easily find a good looking trash can, but bath accessories still consist of aisles of palm tree ceramics and plastic fish figurines? This is the exact conundrum Kenneth Schiller faced, and the catalyst for creating Kontextur, an oasis of attractive and functional items for the loo.

Utilizing clean lines and quality materials, Kontextur's shop is kitsch-free. Though that doesn't mean there's no fun. Duck Harry may remind you of his rubber counterpart, but he can prop up a toothbrush & toothpaste, or stand in for a doorstop. Product shots are sparsely merchandized to emphasize their modernness, but many items can work in more eclectic décor. Shower curtains range from graphic, neon blooms to simple dots. The bamboo curtain rings would even fit in with some palm trees.

Kontextur makes shopping for the bathroom a design decision, not an afterthought. The pieces are meant to be displayed; to stand out, not stick out. Like the toothbrush/razor holders: they are gorgeous. Sorry, Oral-B, these guys need an equally sexy toothbrush to prop.

Though it's a bit of sticker shock to go from paying $5.99 for the hardware store plastic variety to $50 for shower curtain rings, remember that you shelled out a few Benjamins for a metal box to hold your fish bones and banana peels.
