London-based Lassco bills itself as "England's prime resource for architectural antiques, salvage and curiosities". Here architects, interior designers and homeowners alike hunt out original Regency fireplaces, two-metre-wide chandeliers or 1960s door handles; whatever is required to complete their vision, Lassco is likely to have it.

The company was founded by Adrian Amos in the early 1970's, when "it became evident that there were householders at one end of a North London street throwing original features into skips that householders at the other end were busily reinstating... between the two a business was born".

Lassco now has three locations in the UK: the original Brunswick House in Vauxhall, London (pictured) which stocks mainly antiques and hardware, Ropewalk in Bermondsey, London which has reclaimed timber flooring and other architectural salvage, and the new Three Pigeons in Oxfordshire, which holds wonders both great and small. Two of the locations even have popular cafés, so shoppers can sit on an old stone bench in a garden surrounded by sculpture, enjoying coffee and cake, and take any of it home with them afterwards.
