Namie answered a quick survey so we could get to know Monosquare a little better.
When did you open your store?
We launched our site in March 2012.
What was the inspiration for opening Monosquare?
I was inspired by a wooden plate made by a local craftsman in my home town. I am from Nagano, Japan and I go home to visit my parents every few years with my husband. After a few trips, we saw some wooden plates made by local craftsmen and were inspired by their simplicity and modern look. We decided to try and find more objects that would hold the tradition and quality of Japanese craftsmanship and fit the style of a modern home.
After a year of research and preparation, we launched our site in 2012.
What is your current favorite item?
I would say all of them, but to pick a couple, it will be: The Soji Collection - these containers make perfect organizers for small items , and the 5 Color Kitchen cloths for their practicality in the kitchen and beautiful pastel shades.
What is your best selling item?
Soji Collection Tutu and Hako, Shijimi bags and White Coaster with Red Stripes.
Other than your own, what is your favorite store?
I have so many: Poketo, Apolis, Old Faithful Shop, Mjölk, Folklore and many more.

Shaw's Original Fir...
When I tried to access more information on the gorgeous red bowl in the first photo, all the links you provided led to dead ends. If someone wants to follow up and inquire about price etc. or maybe buy it, this post gives no help.
mei-ling, here is a link to the red bowl: http://www.monosquare.com/collections/all-products/products/nuts-scarlet
I agree that it is beautiful.
Not sure why this is consider mid-range , the red NUTS Bowl for $180.00 is not mid-range for most people.
