Curated goods for your urban garden

Despite Boston's abundant amount of green space, there are very few local shopping options for urban gardeners. Lindsey Swett, a lifelong green thumb, got tired of making trips to the 'burbs for supplies, so she started Niche for people like herself, no Zipcar necessary.
Tucked amongst the South End's historic brownstones, Niche's facade bursts with greenery: perennials, annuals, herbs, and vegetable plants are on display outside. Containers, garden supplies, seeds, and decorative accessories are artfully arranged inside.
The South End is home to more community gardens than any other part of the city, and Swett can help with yours. From shade-loving moss to sun-soaking flowers, she can recommend the best plants for your spot. A landscape architect by trade, Swett also offers garden design services and custom plant sourcing.
