Part art gallery, part event space and part vintage hardware store, Paul Henry’s Art Gallery in downtown Hammond, Indiana has been owned by the same family for over 120 years.

Paul Henry’s Art Gallery was founded as P.H. Mueller and Sons in 1887, and was known throughout Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland as the gold standard in hardware. Current proprietors David and Rita Mueller have turned the historic storefront into not only a place to showcase their vintage tool displays from the 1920’s, they have also been growing the arts scene in Hammond by turning their shop into a gallery and events space.

Many of the artists represented are locals, often stopping in the shop to chat and check out the newest work in the gallery. On most Thursday nights, local musicians drop by for a potluck and open mic night, where they share food, music and an incredible visual display. Paul Henry’s more than just a store and gallery, it is the creative heartbeat of downtown Hammond.
