Your apartment is charmingly unique, so why would you excpect a manufactured-by-the-hundreds desk to fit your space? It's time to DIY, and here's a creative project for a narrow desk with some hidden storage crafted from IKEA pieces.
Tee from Alberta, Canada, submitted their franken-desk to IKEA Hackers, made from a white MALM Ocassional Table ($79.99) and one white VIKA ANNEFORS Table Leg with Storage ($40).

They completed the desk with a sliding keyboard tray made from a flat shelf and drawer slider hardware, and the compact IKEA NILS stool ($44.99) tucked under the desktop.
Slim desks are a great solution for people with small spaces. If you're rocking a laptop or a flat computer or monitor, you'll still have plenty of room to spread out and get work done.

I saw this on ikea hacker and put it on my pinterest, its a perfect option for me where my room is also my office/crafty area.
Now I know its a winner if you guys (& gals) love it too!
Great idea! I wish IKEA did online ordering. I do not have a store near me...
It looks cool, but incredibly uncomfortable.
Brilliant! I want to do this as a television console. I'm convincing the boyfriend as we speak...
AUTUMN- IKEA has online ordering? And if you see something that is not available for online ordering on their website you can call them and order using the item #'s listed in the catalog/website. I furnished a considerable amount of my apartment that way.
I would love one of these. Now if only I could find someone to make this for me. LOL
