Your apartment is charmingly unique, so why would you excpect a manufactured-by-the-hundreds desk to fit your space? It's time to DIY, and here's a creative project for a narrow desk with some hidden storage crafted from IKEA pieces. Tee from Alberta, Canada, submitted their franken-desk to IKEA Hackers, made from a white MALM Ocassional Table ($79.99) and one white VIKA ANNEFORS Table Leg with Storage ($40).
They completed the desk with a sliding keyboard tray made from a flat shelf and drawer slider hardware, and the compact IKEA NILS stool ($44.99) tucked under the desktop.
Slim desks are a great solution for people with small spaces. If you're rocking a laptop or a flat computer or monitor, you'll still have plenty of room to spread out and get work done.
