If you're a procrastinator like me, then you know you can't possibly tackle your design to do list without first creating a mood board. And not a digital version, no, we need our inspiration to physically stay in our faces and not get lost behind 10 other apps. This easy DIY mood board is upcycled from an old picture frame and a broken lamp, won't put any holes in your wall, and will get you in the mood to kick off all your fabulous projects for the new year.

2011-owllamp.jpgDid you read the DIY Animal Lamp post and wonder if how it would look as a different animal? Perhaps an owl? Well, look at this adorable version we just found.

duvetcover 17.jpgThis duvet cover looks like something you'd spend a whole lot of money on in a hip boutique, doesn't it? We were blown away to discover that this is a DIY project created by a very talented mom for her very artistic son.

chenille1.jpgPut a new spool of thread on your machine and sharpen your scissors. Here's a completely fresh take on a hand-cut chenille method to make baby blankets. The top layer is a chevron printed fabric, but you'd swear at first glance that it's pieced. And the back? Fluffy fleece layers that are perfect for keeping your little one warm this winter.

2011-wickerbefore.jpgThere's nothing particularly wrong with this wicker chair. It's got a nice shape and nice legs. It's just so...brown. But not for long!

Thurston_04.jpgDid you catch this home tour on Apartment Therapy recently? Did you notice the cool, mid-century modern crib mobile? We sure did, and we had to contact the homeowner to get more details.

Move over Starbucks. There's a new competitor in town. It's called Millz Coffee, named after the cutest little barista you've ever seen, and, oh yeah, it's made of cardboard. We'll take that almond croissant and a salted caramel hot chocolate, please.

Sure Halloween is over, but this dark-walled nursery with that tiny pop of pumpkin orange made us wish it wasn't. We looked at our favorite rooms with dark walls last week, and we definitely want to add this nursery to the list.

Pillows are the perfect way to add color and warmth to a kid's room. With a practically infinite number of fabrics and trims available, you can custom them any way you want. Can't sew? A pillow is the ideal beginning sewing project. And once you master the basic square, the sky's the limit.

bambina1.jpgThis nursery is wearing a very chic color combination: gray and hot pink. It reminds me of a certain Flashdance-inspired outfit I had in middle school, and I mean that in the most complimentary way.
