The annual Toy Fair at the Javits Center is filled with toys of all kinds many with flashing lights, music, and moving parts. So it was a breath of fresh air to come upon the quiet, peaceful, friendly booth of cate & levi manned by founder Josh Title. Not only are his products soft and beautiful, each one is unique, made by hand and from reclaimed wool.cate & levi is a Toronto-based company but will happily ship one of their creatures to US children in need of cuddly companions. Although you can let Josh know when you order whether the owner will be a girl or boy and you can certainly choose the animal you'd like, he and his team of stitchers will create a unique animal each time so there's a lovely surprise element too. Besides, we didn't see a single one that wasn't wholly adorable and charismatic.
There are five categories to choose from: stuffed animals ($85), pillow pals ($45), wall art ($45), hand puppets ($35) and zoo cubes ($30). You can see examples of cate & levi's menagerie on their site.
