One of my favorite memories of last year's Brimfield Antiques Show was meeting the folks from Cleveland Art. It was a scorching day and my friend Susan and I ended up spending over an hour with owner Jason Wein in Cleveland Art's busy tent sharing design stories and drinking lemonade like old friends. We had breezed in because the organic shapes of the hand blown industrial lighting caught our eye, even in the midst of the colorful flea market bonanza surrounding us. We had to hear the story behind them and it was a good one!

Cleveland Art specializes in repurposing vintage industrial machinery/parts into one-of-a-kind furniture and lighting. Jason started Cleveland art over 15 years ago after growing up working in his family's salvage yard — seeing the potential in industrial furniture long before the current trend.

But back to the hand blown lights we fell in love with and had to have! Jason designed these after spending time in Alaska and being inspired by how the water reflected and moved in the streams and waterfalls. He created these hand blown glass lamps to replicate the movement of the water — certainly when mine is lit, the ceiling and walls create waves and almost move. Each one is different and becomes a focal point both lit and unlit.

Other cool things you can find at Clevelend Art are industrial carts, tables, all kinds of storage, seating, unique salvaged objects and more . If you are lucky enough to live in Cleveland or LA you can see their inventory in person — they are also opening a store in Palm Beach this summer. If you live in New England and are planning to attend the Brimfield Antiques Show this year, stop by — they always bring lots of their industrial stuff from the Midwest. They are easily some of the friendliest folks there too.
