For years Etsy has dominated the web as the go-to source for small business, handmade, unique and one-of-a-kind goods. But to say the site's number of options can be overwhelming would be an understatement. To help streamline the search for eco-friendly and natural goods, a new website has popped up, Eco Market, which has branded itself as the "Etsy for Eco." The online retailer has focused not just on handmade, but the story behind the product — the who, what and why behind every item and business featured on the site.

Ladies & Gentlemen Studio is a two-person design house offering handcrafted goods for the home. In addition to offering their products on their own site, Dylan Davis and Jean Lee's L&G Studio also have a roster of more than 60 stockists who sell their wares. 

The founders of Growler Goods, Matt Graber and Heather Roma, want to give dogs a cool, and relaxed California attitude with their accessories. From cute ponchos to clever leashes with poop bag holsters, their handcrafted dog accessories are practical and stylish. 

Farmstead Mercantile is a nod to the past with a firm grasp on the present. Billed  as a new kind of country store, you'll find an eclectic mix of new, vintage and antiques wares, many of which are made in the USA. Shop co-owner, Jonathan Stone, sat down with us to give us a little history of the store. 

The name evokes both a place and a state of mind, and so goes the same for the newly opened hybrid shop tucked in the verdant hills of Echo Park (owners Rachel Berks and Marisa Suarez-Orozco also operate a graphic design business from within) where a curated selection of home, fashion, and personal wares span from the roughly hewn to precisely fashioned, natural to neon, worn to polished. Like the name implies, the diversity of color, pattern, and texture is wildly "other"...and wonderful.

To celebrate its launch, fashion and design marketing agency Flagship put together a pop-up shop that brings together products from many of the brands it represents. Named for the old Chinatown theater building the shop resides inside, Kim Sing Trading Company pop-up showcases European street wear lines like Weekend Offender, and quirky furniture design houses like RS Barcelona, but the short-run shop seems to mostly showcase Flagship's designer tech brands. 

Over her years of travel as a stylist and interior designer, Melissa Newirth has been a casual collector of vintage textiles. The growing collection sparked a desire to turn the textiles into modern wares. Thus, Cloth & Goods, an online shop offering a mix of new and vintage textiles and home goods, was born.
