This creative use of space is one of the most impressive we've seen in a long time. Samantha of Tuffet Whimsy saw potential in the unused space under the stairs to the basement. She turned what would otherwise be wasted space into a most precious play area for her kids. More
A Brazilian woman, Dona Eunice, and her husband have been caring for children and their families for years. They've fed them, helped employ mothers in a sewing cooperative, and even adopted and took custody of 27 abandoned children. I needed to create a space in which a playroom for the kiddies and a craft room for me could co-exist! This meant an overhaul of the color to a light airy shade and selling all of the mismatched furniture, to be replaced by solid storage areas for both toys and fabric. More

If you love your job, it's incredibly satisfying to share what you do with your child. Jennifer even went so far as to carve out space for her daughter in her workspace so they can create side by side. She shares: I run a letterpress printing and design studio, and my daughter Jo is very often in the studio with me. Effort was made to keep this area looking like it belonged with the rest of the studio while still being a fun work/art/play center. More
