Over the years, our House Tours have shown how people live comfortably when they truly love their homes. Many of these houses may have a human’s name on the lease or deed, but it’s the four-legged residents who call the shots. Taking our inspiration from realtor.com’s “Pets at Home” video — where we see real pets in real homes they love — we’ve looked back through House Tours history and awarded our pet superlatives!

Like Toby, from Boston (pictured at top):

Pet: Toby
Human: Philip
Location: Boston
Superlative: Most Resourceful
Where a human might see only an expensive mid-century modern chair, Toby sees a wicker-and-rope scratching post.

Congrats to Toby and his nine fellow alumni on their superlatives!

Pet: Hadley
Human: Hannah
Location: Chicago
Superlative: Biggest Foodie
Her Logan Square apartment is full of sunny spots for laying around, but the sweet spot is at the table.

Pet: Sprocket
Humans: Eryn and Jared
Location: Atlanta
Superlative: Coolest Wheels
When your dad co-owns the hippest DIY garage slash coffeehouse slash motorcycle lifestyle goods in town, you’re just going to have to deal with everyone wanting a ride.

Pet: Siddharta
Humans: Ulises & Melissa
Location: Boston

Don’t be fooled by the basket; Siddharta’s Moorish and Spanish surroundings reflect his worldly tastes.

Pets: Chance and Stella
Humans: Erin and Danny
Location: Huntington Beach, CA
Superlative: Cutest Couple
They give the American Gothic couple a run for their money.

You have to earn a name like Kitty Capone.

Pet: Otto

Otto leaves the flash for others, choosing instead to make a big statement in white on white.

Pet: Otto
Humans: Dave & Hopie
Location: Venice Beach, CA
Superlative: Class Narcissist
…but then if you looked like Otto, you’d hang up your portrait, too.

Pet: Bogey
Human: Revae
Location: Chicago
Superlative: Best Dressed
You can’t own a classic cocktail set and not wear a bowtie.

You’d smile really big too if your human kept a smiling Felix the Cat doll around as inspiration.
