Our favorite colors are teal and orange and they really pop in the light. The pride and joy of our gallery wall is our Shinola wall clock. One of our favorite brands since Jeff grew up outside Detroit. Also our dog is a super model 🙂 (Image credit: Jeff Campbell)

Name: Jeff Campbell, husband, Tim, and their chihuahua Halfpipe
Location: Lakeview — Chicago, Illinois
Size: 800 square feet
Years lived in: 1.5 years, renting (though they just “moved to Venice Beach so no longer live there.”)

Jeff and Tim’s sun-filled one-bedroom in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood is both a place for entertaining friends and a refuge from the bustling city outside. Situated on the 11th floor, the apartment’s floor-to-ceiling windows and clean, modern finishes offer the perfect place to sip a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

Jeff is a creative director/digital artist and his prints are all over the walls in their apartment. Tim works for the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery so we love showcasing anything beer-related in the apartment, too.

We love collecting vinyl so our turntable is front and center in our living room. We are digging the macrame trend right now and have a few of our favorite plants hanging in the air. Tim is great with his hands and actually created both our console table and wall shelf out of reclaimed barn wood. We love that they are unique pieces! (Image credit: Jeff Campbell)

What is your favorite room and why? Our favorite room is the living space because of the high ceilings and gorgeous views of Chicago from 11 floors up.

The open kitchen features a massive peninsula with tons of counter space flanked by a set of bright teal bar stools for meal time. (Image credit: Jeff Campbell)

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? We would love it if the bathroom were a bit higher end, but I feel like that is a problem that a lot of renters face. It’s hard to fully redo the feel of a room when it needs to be all cosmetic and come with you when you leave. We did however switch out the shower head to a rain shower head and it feels amazing.

The bedroom features 1.5 walls of windows so it’s warm and inviting. We have a house plant addiction which makes this room perfect for our plant children. (Image credit: Jeff Campbell)

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? We are loving our new dresser from Overstock. Didn’t break the bank and it makes a huge statement with the different gradations of stain on the drawers.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t freak out about doing everything at once. Design is a journey and your tastes are always changing. Take risks and have fun! Just surround yourself with what you love.

Thanks, Jeff Campbell, husband, Tim, and their chihuahua Halfpipe!
