If you follow our Insta Stories you might remember that, a little while back, we asked for your help in styling Carrie’s new home in The Catskills by voting on items to include from The Home Depot. After moving from a tiny apartment in the city to a new house in the mountains, Carrie’s new bedroom was a total blank slate. But now it’s totally finished—thanks to you! Your votes have been tallied and the furniture’s been delivered: Take a look at how your top picks turned Carrie’s blank bedroom into a stylish space.

Carrie’s Style Brief:
My style is: mid-century modern meets cabin chic
My home vibe is: comfortable, quirky and colorful
My colors are: teal, orange, yellow, and natural wood
I will use this room for: sleeping, watching late-night TV

Carrie’s overall style goal was a blend of mid-century modern and cabin chic, and she wanted to create a comfy, quirky, and colorful vibe in the bedroom. She had one big challenge though: low ceilings. Creating an accent wall with vertically-oriented wallpaper from Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines made a major difference by accentuating the seven feet of ceiling height she had to work with.

For the rest of the room, everything ended up relatively low-profile with just a few vertical accents here and there, helping to maximize visual space. A streamlined spindle bed anchors the room, along with an easy-care Jute Area Rug that adds a touch of pattern and texture without overwhelming the space. To dress the bed, all-white sheets and a duvet cover created a neutral platform on which jade and orange throw pillows could really add pops of color.

To finish Carrie’s bedroom, a set of mid-century-style nightstands won out, topped with trendy lamps and a touch of greenery in an accent vase. Carrie said she’s “delighted with the lighting selection at The Home Depot,” and the globe lamps were a great final choice to add some bright accents and functional bedside lighting. A poppy accent pouf, coordinated wall art, and more faux flora rounded out the room.
