At This Hotel For Bibliophiles, Guests Have Their Own “Book Butler”
Travelers usually choose accomodations based on their location, price, or how Instagrammable they are. But one hotel in Florida is becoming popular for their book service.
The Ben West Palm recently started a unique complimentary service, which bibliophiles will surely love. Called the “Book Butler,” the program allows guests to order a book on-demand by choosing a title from a curated in-room menu and calling the hotline. The Book Butler will then deliver the book — on a silver platter and in formal attire, no less — complete with a custom bookmark.
If you like having snacks while reading, the experience also has a complimentary dining option called Book Bites, wherein guests can enjoy specially-paired small plates to go with their book of choice.
According to Bernardo Neto, General Manager of The Ben, the program not only offers a glimpse into the literary-inspired history of the property, but also supports the local community through a partnership with the Palm Beach Book Store.
“We understand the value in supporting independently-owned, neighborhood businesses and giving back to our community, particularly during the current economic climate, and are pleased to be able to introduce our guests to such a revered local bookshop as part of this new program.”
And did we mention you get to take the new book home? If you choose to leave it behind, that’s okay too, because the book will be donated to the West Palm Beach Library Foundation.
“During the pandemic, it has been especially important that we continue to connect our customers to books,” Candice Cohen, founder of The Palm Beach Book Store, said. “We look forward to partnering with The Ben to curate a selection of new and topical book titles that relate to the history of the hotel and the city of West Palm Beach, providing a wonderful keepsake for those who are visiting for the first time or who have lived here their whole life.”
