Why is your home the smallest, coolest space?
I wanted to create a retreat for myself. A place that is relaxing, welcoming, and fun. Due to its sometimes challenging and limited layout, living here is constant inspiration to get creative in order to find ways to add beauty and interest to what is, on its own, a bland space. I consider this apartment my canvas — containing a fantasy I work to bring into reality every day.
How does your home reflect you?
As a person with a background in textiles, color, pattern, and texture are inspiring. Playing with fabrics, bold patterns, and pushing the limits of a space bring me a lot of joy. I rest here, work here, and study here. I use my home, in some ways, as a way to express my personality and view it ultimately as my own living, evolving art project.
