Courteney Cox might have Monica Geller-level organizational skills (and an affinity for keeping her stunning home spotless), but when it comes to her cooking skills, it seems she’s all about progress, not perfection. As of late, she’s been sharing cooking videos with her more than 12 million Instagram followers, and while she’s mastered all kinds of Italian staples — from pasta alla checca to gluten-free biscotti — her hilarious first attempt at pizza had plenty of twists and turns.

The “Friends” alum recently shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her first pizza foray, captioning the clip, “Pizza easier said than done 🍕.” To her fans and followers, she admits, “First time to make a pizza. By the way, I don’t know what I’m doing,” as the camera pans over her extraordinarily well-organized colored bowls including everything she’ll need to have on hand, including garlic, seasonings, pepperoni, mushrooms, grilled onions, and, of course, plenty of mozzarella.

She gamely tries to toss her pizza dough in the air but quickly realizes it’s a precarious task, so she sticks to rolling it with a pin, noting, “I don’t think it’s important to have [the dough] completely round. Who made up the round thing?” She places her round-ish dough on a massive pizza peel before attempting to roll the edges, asking, “Do I have to make like this, or does that just happen?”

Next comes the toppings, which include sauce, cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, and pepperoni, which Cox says she doesn’t even care for as a staffer looks on from behind her wearily. “I’m doing this just myself, so I act like there’s someone over there, but there’s no one there.”

After dropping an F-bomb and getting an assist from said staffer, she slides her heartwarmingly messy pie into her built-in outdoor wood-fire pizza oven, which quite literally would be any home chef and pizza aficionado’s dream. One of her adorable pups gets in the way and Cox nearly burns the pie and narrowly misses spilling it on her pooch, but in the end, it was mostly a success. Cox slices up her pizza and says, “I admit it doesn’t look amazing, but let’s see what people think. Who wants to try my pizza?”

She got plenty of support from her longtime pal and “Friends” co-star Jennifer Aniston, who commented, “I DO!!!!! 😩😭❤️🍕.” And while it seems like someone in the Cox household is getting good use out of the professional-level pizza oven on property, by the looks of it, that person is not her.

All in all, an A for effort — homemade pizza from scratch is no easy feat, and Cox deserves credit for not tossing in the towel and calling for delivery.
