Say Goodbye to Dated Track Lighting With This Easy & Clever DIY

There’s no denying that lighting is a vitally important aspect of any space, yet it’s often the most overlooked. When visiting Lauren and Danny’s Mount Washington home, we were reminded that, whether you rent or own, you can take control of your own lighting situation.

While Lauren and Danny love the ’90s, the dated track lighting in their kitchen was in desperate need of an update. Because they rent their home, ripping out the track was not an option, so the two began researching ways to modernize it. Fans of the exposed bulb look, they decided to adapt the track into a series of hanging exposed-bulb pendant lights.

With a few simple tools, Danny was able to attach an adapter to each fixture on the track and then simply plug in the new pendant lights. The project turned out to be an inexpensive and easy solution to a seemingly permanent eyesore.

Not all tracks are the same, so if you’re looking to replicate this beauty, be sure to research what kind of adapter your track needs.
