These Are the Most Popular Valentine’s Day Gifts, According to Etsy
Valentine’s Day might be different this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop showing your loved ones you care.
New data from Etsy revealing the top gift searches on their site. Foreseeably, instead of going out on fancy dinner dates, people are planning to stay in and turn their homes into love nests. Here are Etsy’s most popular gift categories this coming Valentine’s Day:
DIY date nights
A meal at a Michelin-star restaurant might not be possible this year, but shoppers are nonetheless making their date nights special. Etsy says that at-home cocktail kits have been the most popular, with a 1,183 percent increase in searches. DIY kits for baking and cooking, meanwhile, have searches increased by 165 percent.
Personalized presents
It’s no surprise that personalized presents, specifically jewelry, remains a favorite. Zodiac necklace searches are up by 45 percent, while birth flower jewelry searches have seen a whopping 440 percent increase.
For those who like dates with a sense of humor, witty Valentine’s Day cards have been popular in searches as well (a 38 percent increase). One card reads: “You’re not around for me to bug. So I’m sending this (socially distanced) hug.”
Loungewear
Since pajamas are the go-to attire these days—whether just chilling in bed or WFH—loungewear would be a safe gift option. Searches for pajamas have increased by 167 percent, slippers by 115 percent, and robes by 51 percent. Of course, lingerie will always be a favorite choice among lovebirds. (This year, searches for lace undies are up 42 percent.)
Wellness packages
To say that times are stressful is an understatement. So why not pamper your beloved with a self-care package? Searches for bath bombs and bath salts are up 163 percent, while searches for notebooks, journals, and diaries are up 48 percent.
And last but not the least, don’t forget to pamper your pets, too — they could just be as stressed as you. Etsy says that gifts for pets have also increased by 82 percent.
