HomeGoods is one of the only stores where you find all the things you didn’t know you needed (just until that moment!). And because most items are priced so reasonably, the brand helps you source popular styles without hefty prices. For the new year, HomeGoods is already stocking its aisles with finds that are ahead of the trend curve.

According to trend experts who forecast for HomeGoods, there are a few key decor trends to keep an eye out for in 2026. The most exciting? Believe it or not, denim lampshades — and the reason why totally makes sense.

Elegance, Equestrianism, and Classic Americana Are on the Rise

Interior designer Jenny Reimold, HomeGoods’ featured finder, said, “a new wave of American style is making its way back” to the mainstream. This decor style is laid-back, nostalgic, and inviting, featuring a mix of heritage patterns, hand-stitched details, and “denim blues.” Think: Ralph Lauren meets a farmhouse aesthetic with a contemporary twist (Ralph Lauren styles aren’t going anywhere post-Christmas!).

“Picture a country home with a city edge filled with decor that feels both timeworn and timeless,” Reimold explained, naming a few of the finds specifically. These include: “Denim-inspired lamps, antique-style brass sconces, distressed farmhouse benches, patterned linen napkins, and more.”

Denim shades could lean American revival, coastal grandma, or equestrian (just like these HomeGoods’ horse girl prints). And modern home retailers are also leaning into this eye-catching aesthetic; finds like this denim-inspired Pottery Barn jute table lamp nail the statement look that HomeGoods expects to take off this year.  You’ll find similar pieces from Crate & Barrel in a navy linen lampshade as well as Birch Lane’s woven resin lamp in a deep denim blue.

If you want to dip your toes into the denim-on-denim-on-denim trend right now, check out this lampshade from Wayfair. It’s just as cozy when the light is off as it is flicked on. And the classic empire shape is so timeless that it will look beautiful with vintage pieces and modern touches alike. You’ll find other chic denim-esque pieces from Wayfair, too, like this Moonlight Table Lamp

All three designers working with HomeGoods — including Reimold, The Brownstone Boys, Barry and Jordan, and Ursula Carmona — note that neutrals and natural elements aren’t going anywhere in 2026. Linen, stone, rattan, and wood are still going to be in starring roles, as they all work so well in both vintage-inspired and modern designs.

Denim and Americana are going to be big in 2026, so scan your local HomeGoods aisles to see if you can spot a bit of blue jean to try out the trend for yourself. Our recommendation? Snag it before it’s gone forever!
