Raquel and Pedro’s Spanish home is flooded with natural light, filled with luscious green plants and is the perfect showcase for their handmade wares. They’re the creative couple who founded Canoa Lab, a “ceramic, jewelry, photography and word laboratory.” Their work, like their home, is inspired by many different things, carefully designed and crafted by hand.

The layout of this home was a disaster when they bought it. Working with architects, Raquel and Pedro designed the renovation to highlight the architecture’s beautiful elements, like the natural light, the historic old ceiling beams and the amazing terrace. They chose all the materials with respect in mind; they wanted to preserve the history of the house.

Art lovers, they also like to test the boundaries of design. In their ceramic work, they experiment with new forms and fresh fabrication methods. And they’re attracted to the same, which is why their home is filled with such a wide variety of furnishings, textures and art pieces. The house may have been in ruins when they found it, but as artisans they took raw materials and crafted a stunning home.
